I like Mission San Miguel, which is located in the dusty, sleepy, but pretty small town of
San Miguel.  What are the odds that both the town and the mission would both be
named "San Miguel"?!

I think of San Miguel as being the most average mission.  Not the fanciest or most isolated
or historical or anything, it's the Subaru station wagon of missions, and that's fine.

 In fact, probably the only notable thing about Mission San Miguel is that The Beatles
played their first concert in a storeroom out near the back fountain, a fact that even
fanatically devoted Beatles fans are often unaware of.
