After a pause of another year or so, I picked up the bicycle again
      and headed for the
      two most southerly missions.

Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, which is located near Oceanside,
      is an attractive,
well-maintained, and very large mission.  It's also the least
      memorable mission I
      visited, for some reason.

The one notable thing at San Luis Rey is the painting above, in
      which
Badass Jesus is in full superhero mode, kicking serious Roman
      butt.  I mean,
look at that thing!  He totally looks like he's swinging
      around on Spider-Man webs.
If you ever visit Mission San Luis Rey and see that someone has
      drawn
Iron Man energy bolts zapping out of Jesus' palms, you'll know who
      it was.
