I thought it would be good to include at least one photo taken on
a rest day, when we were showered and livin' large on the
town. This is actually taken at my farewell dinner on my
last night, in Lilongwe, Malawi. To be honest, a more
typical photo would have shown a fly-drenched open cafe in some
small Sudanese town, with plastic tables and chipped cups and a
three-legged dog that looked like a rolled-up sheet of burnt
carpet, but this is good, too.
That's Jen in the middle, and Kam Heather at the left. Kam
suffered just about everything short of an exploding cerebellum on
this trip but managed to keep going. Kam's nickname, by the
way, was "Anti-Trout," but it would take me until 2023 to explain
why.
