This rather remarkably filthy map shows the route and dates of my
trip.
My idea was to exactly duplicate the route of the Spaniards,
except that I
started from the north instead of the south
used a bicycle instead of walking
sometimes stayed at the local Motel 6 (I also camped and
stayed with hosts)
used Google Maps instead of starving
However, on the way I did enslave thousands
of Native Americans and claimed their
lands for Spain, so I feel like I duplicated the spirit, if not
the exact letter, of their journeys.
