San Rafael is also the home of the Marin Civic Center, one of the
last buildings designed by
the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and, if I'm not
mistaken, the only public building
he ever designed. It's garish, ridiculous, and quite
lovely.
Legend says that on moonlit nights, when the fog sneaks in over
the hills in just the right way,
you can see the ghostly figure of Frank Lloyd Wright rising over
the horizon to pee on the ghost of
Mies van der Rohe.
